We collect the answers you give in the study form. In Track A these are anonymised research answers, given in bands rather than exact figures, and an optional email address so we can send you the Pulse report. In Track B we also collect your business name and contact details, because it is an expression of interest. We collect this to understand the real financing needs of women-led businesses in our target markets, and to build a proposed strategy that fits them.
We rely on your consent as the primary basis for collecting and using your information in this study. You give that consent through the separate permissions in the form, each of which you choose freely and can withdraw. Where we process the minimum information needed to run the study itself and to respond to you, we also rely on our legitimate interest in conducting market research, balanced against your rights and limited to what is necessary.
These bases are recognised under the data protection laws of the markets this study covers, including the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and the equivalent laws of Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Rwanda and Senegal. Where your local law gives you stronger rights than this notice describes, those stronger rights apply.
Your information is collected through our survey provider, Tally, whose servers are located in the European Union, and is then held by Terramont Capital Partners in its Google Workspace environment. Terramont Capital Partners is based in Mauritius. This means your information leaves your own country and is transferred to, and stored in, the European Union and by a Mauritius-based controller.
We make these transfers on the basis of your consent, given with a clear explanation of where your information goes, and under contractual safeguards with our providers that require them to protect your information to a standard consistent with the data protection law of your country. For transfers from Nigeria, we rely on your informed consent and on appropriate contractual safeguards, consistent with the cross-border transfer provisions of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. For transfers from Kenya, we rely on your consent and on safeguards consistent with the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 and its transfer rules. For transfers from South Africa, we rely on your consent and on the transfer conditions in section 72 of POPIA. The same approach of consent plus contractual safeguards applies to Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Rwanda and Senegal.
You can decline these transfers by not submitting the form. If you have already submitted and change your mind, contact us using the details below and we will delete your information.
Only as you permit. Each permission in the form is separate and starts switched off. We never share your details with a third party simply because you ticked a referral box; where a suitable partner exists we ask you again, name the organisation, and share nothing until you approve each introduction one at a time. Terramont receives no fee or benefit for any referral.
We keep research responses only as long as needed for the purpose of this study. Anonymised, aggregated research data may be kept indefinitely, because once aggregated it no longer identifies you. Where you have given an email address or, in Track B, business and contact details, we keep those until the study concludes and the Pulse report has been issued, and in any event no longer than 24 months from the date you submit, after which we delete or fully anonymise them, unless you have asked us to keep you informed about the fund and have not since withdrawn that permission. If you withdraw a permission, we act on it within 30 days.
We limit access to your information to the small number of people running the study. Track A research answers are held and analysed only in aggregate. Track B details are kept separately and are used only to respond to your expression of interest. We never ask for financial statements or sensitive documents through this form, by email or by social media; any such material moves only through a secure data room, and only after screening.
This study is for established businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
You can withdraw any permission at any time by emailing privacy@terramontcapitalpartners.com, and we act within 30 days. Depending on your market you also have rights to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to object to how we use it.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to your data protection authority. In Kenya this is the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC); in Nigeria, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC); in South Africa, the Information Regulator; and in Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Rwanda and Senegal, the national data protection authority for your country.
